Fashion Week Part 1

Its that time of year again, Spring and Summer fashion week! We are only into the first week so far, but from what I am seeing I really like everything.
I've notice the overall theme for many designers this year has been very vintage inspired 50's style.
Below are a few of my favourites from this week!
What has been your favourite part of fashion week so far?

Photos of Summers Past

So guys, this summer just flew by! I still can't believe it is September 3rd today, where did the summer go?! Lots of big changes have happened to Adam and I this summer. We both have started new jobs and have been insanely busy with those. The down fall of having such a big change is that we haven't had a second to really do a lot on our summer list.
I also apologize about my lack of blogging as well. With this change for me I haven't really had a second for really anything.
This post is dedicated to what I was able to do this summer through photos. I really wanted to film a lot of it but just couldn't get a second to upgrade my camera (my current one really need to be upgrade to have better quality videos for you.)
Hope you enjoy!
Let me know in the comments what you'r favourite part of the summer was!

Nothing better then lounging poolside!

Happy Canada Day.

Went strawberry picking for the first time. What a amazing time, the fields smelt so amazing!

Also went for a little wine taste / posable wedding venue. This little phone booth (that actually worked!) was so cute in the middle of the vineyard.

Went on my first "business trip" for a week of training in Ottawa.

To end the summer with a splash, I got nominated for the icy cold ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. This was such a great campaign to raise funds and awareness. If your not to sure what it is go to ALS.ca to find out more info!

Hope everyone had a great summer!

July Faves!

Its that time of month again! Its the happy time when everyone tells everyone what they have loved for the past month. I don't have a whole lot of newness this month, but I thought I would share the few things that I have been loving.

The first thing that I have loved is the Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil. This stuff has been a god send this summer. A few weeks ago I managed to get a pretty awesome sunburn just on my hip on the left side. Since that happened I had been applying this stuff constantly, day and night and the result was no peeling and a great tan. The down fall it wasn't really soothing however its not meant for this but it really helped with keeping my skin moisturized. As well the smell is amazing!!

Mask of Magnaminty from Lush has done wonders for my skin. This summer my skin has been on a roller coaster weather its sun burns or dryness/ oil / ruff texture of my face. This mask was amazing to get my face back in normal working order. The mask is also an exfoliantent when you wash it off. It pulls all the bad stuff to top and unclogs your pores. It also has a cooling effect due to the mint which is amazing for the summer and the smell is minty coco heaven.

My faves would not be complete with out my favourite YouTuber! This month it is the one and only Alife Deyes who does a bunch of great videos weather its video games, daily vlogs, or just all around crazy videos he is great. The past week he just celebrated five years of being on YouTube which is crazy! Go check him out on YouTube and subscribe!!

Thats it for this month.
What was your favourites this month?

Everyday Hero

Today's post is kind of a last minute thought. I was originally going to post a relationship post but I may save that one for another day. I was struck with inspiration yesterday while watching YouTube when Kid President came up in my sub feed. This little guy is beyond inspirational and always makes me so happy.
This new episode he talks about heroes and how everyone is a hero. It really got me thinking as to whom really influenced my life and who I would call as heroes.
The biggest hero that I have encountered in my life would go with out a doubt my mother. This women has been through so much that most people would be torn down by whereas she still stands tall and laughs it off. From leaving an horrible relationship, being a single mother, having everything to next to nothing, and fighting breast cancer and winning the battle she is the definition of super women in my eyes. She is the kind of person who doesn't care who you are, or what you do, if you need the shirt off her back she would that. I am beyond blessed to have someone of such strength to look up too and that I can only dream to have her strength one day!
The other biggest hero in my life would have to be my amazing fiancĂ©e Adam. He has been by my side for six years now supporting me through every decision I make. He reminds me everyday of how proud he is of me no matter how small the goal might have been. Asides from supporting me he has such a caring and giving personality that he is another person who could careless of how much or little money you make, he believes everyone has a story and battle that they are fighting.
These are just two heroes that I get to encounter everyday who make me so blessed to have them.
Who are the biggest heroes in your life?
Let them know how much they have impacted you!

Bookcase Styling

The one thing I always seem to have trouble with when it comes to interior design is bookcases. I currently have two big cases in my entryway and one in my office.
These shelves always end up being clutter magnets. It seems like the right place to just throw any book, magazine, or video games with out any effort to make it look neat. This is one project I want to work on in the summer, to really style the bookcases in the entryway.

I always love how in magazines and decor sites everything is neat and organized and not just a jumbled mess of books. The one main thing I have been noticing when observing these photos is how everything is kinda mixed. Its just not books, you also have meaningful photos and china on display as well.

The biggest rule of thumb is contrast, as you look at this photo you can plainly see the contrast of black and gold. As well in other photos you have colour blocking with the different books you may have.

Bookcases are just not to store books any more, they are now being used to showcase pieces. I love how these people showcased there collections of globes on the tops of the bookcase. As the summer goes on my plan is to pick up a few odds and ends that would be great piece to show off!

So whats your favourite way to style a bookcase or shelves in your home?

June Faves

Okay can I just take a moment and ask where is the time going!? I feel like I am constantly been saying this everyday but still don't have any answers. June has came and went way to fast! Well lets just get into it shall we and talk about some faves that I have been loving!

St Tropez Sunless Tanner mousse
I have been utterly obsessed with this stuff now. Im the kind of girl that enjoys the summer and the warmth but can not just lay there soaking up the rays. This is where st tropez comes in handy! You just need to apply this a few time a week then before you know it you will be a golden goddess!

Hoola Benefit bronzer
On the same topic of being a golden goddess this bronzer is really as amazing as everyone says it is. I kept hearing so many great things so i thought to finally give it a try. I have always found it was hard to find the perfect bronzer for contouring. I find it even harder when i am so fair, so its nearly impossible to find a good one that doesn’t make you look muddy. This one is just perfect for when I am fair or tan depending how much you use! This is defiantly worth the hype.

Soap & Glory Lemon and brown sugar scrub
To conclude this golden goddess post about june faves this scrub is just fab. It smells amazing. It just has a hint of lemon scent with a bit of a sugary undertone to it. In order to have a fab tan you must exfoliate so that is the main reason why I pop this guy in my basket to try. I love when you just grab a random item just cause you need it and it turns out to be amazing! I will most diffently be keeping this guy around and re-buying when I run out!

Zoella Youtuber
Zoella Sugg is the cutest you tuber ever! I have been watching her for some time now. For the whole month of June she had been vlogging everyday. Im really hoping she keeps up with the vlogs, I really enjoy following her around (that does’t sound creepy at all) during the day. She just finished up at VidCon and it looked amazing!

What have you guys been loving this month?

My Oh My How the Blogging Times Have Changed

This work, is a derivative of "Typing" by Sebastien Wiertz, used under CC BY.

Today I wanted to take some time and chat about blogging, and just a few things that I have noticed change since I originally started blogging back in 2007.
When I started blogging sites like Who, What, Wear and Bryan Boy were really just starting up. There was really no social media and what was there didn't have as big of an impact as it does today. There wasn't any YouTube "Celebrities" and Shay Carl couldn't have imaged selling a YouTube network for over $500,000. It was easier to get noticed for your work, you still had to put your time in and pay your dues but there wasn't as much white noise out in the inter webs.
As I try to get back into the blogging world I have found this new era (if we can call it this) a little bit tougher then before. I often sit back and question if I should be more active on social media but when I pull up Twitter I have writers block. Who knew it would be so hard to come up with 140 characters to sum up how your day is going! Or as sit watching my YouTube subscription feed for two hours if I should integrate video into my blog.
I sit and look at my desk calendar trying to plan out post whilst I have full time job, a fiancé that would like to plan a wedding with, along with family and friends. However I know some of you out there are going through the same things and still some how make it work. If those people are reading this please give me some tips to stay relevant please.
I wanted to get back into blogging because I enjoy it! I have anyways enjoyed writing and being able to talk about what I like and enjoy in life. When the pressures of work seem to be to much this is my tiny escape. Or even when I feel like I just want to share something interesting with someone somewhere in the world. A lot has changed in the world of blogging and vlogging as well I suppose. So how do we stay relevant and up to date in the world of blogging? Are we just suppose to go with the flow and change as the world changes? Should we embraced the new ideals of 2014 and just go with it and see where it can take us?
All of this seems so daunting yet exciting for a girl who started a blog for a high school computer project back in 2007.
Please let me know how you keep up with the ever changing internet.
Leave comments with any tip or tricks.
Do you think bloggers (including me) should occasionally break away from the keyboards and turn on the video cameras?

May Favourites

For the month of May I don't really have to much newness. I honestly haven't been trying anything really new, but the few things that I have tried I absolutely love. Some of these items I have been looking at for awhile now and finally just bite the bullet and bought. So lets get into the goodness that is May faves.

First on the list is my Fossil watch, I have been on the hunt for a great watch for some time know and finally stumbled upon this guy. I love that its two toned with the gold and tortoise shell in between. I honestly have been wearing this guy with everything!

The trendy midi rings are next on my list. I got these little guys at Forever 21 for under two dollars so how could I pass them up.  With trendy things like these I don't really like spending lots of money since I don't know how long this trend will stick around. Also I tend to have ADD when it comes to trends where I will get bored of them super fast. But for less then 2 dollars I think I try it out for a few months.

Since we are talking about accessories I dug out my Coach bag for spring and fell in love with it all over again. This little bag has been great for the spring and can easily go with anything in my wardrobe, can't say enough about this Coach bag.

This little beauty product I honestly have been look at for ages and I finally caved and bought it. Let me just tell you I am so happy that I did. This has been my go to for spring when I started to wear more skirts and dress as the weather started to turn. This little gem is amazing, its not orange and its gives you just the right about of colour to make you legs flawless. I also will be the first to admit I am the worst at sunless tanning. I always seem to get blotchy and streaky no matter if I exfoliate and use a mitt to apply. With this you just spray in your hand and rub in and it applies so evenly its idiot proof for people like me! The best part is its instant and one day only, so if you decide last minuet you want to wear a skirt take this out and your legs will look amazing!

My last favourite for this month is an you tuber who I have been following for awhile now. I can not get enough of youtube lately. The first thing I do when I get home is sit down and watch my subscription feed then later Adam and I will sit for hours just watching random videos and fails. Sawyer Hartman make incredible short films and some hilarious challenges with fellow you tubers. To be able to watch his progression in film making is amazing, he just keeps getting better! I can not wait to be able to see his films on the big screen one day. Below is his latest short film Welcome to Tokyo, take a moment and watch if you like definitely go over to his channel and subscribe cause its only going to get better!
