Dreams

Music Monday!
Its been a pretty rainy, windy, cold, and down right miserable weekend here in Nova Scotia. When its weather like this I really like to stay in bed and listen to some great music. These kind of days I like to listen to indie folkie music like Fleetwood Mac.
Dana Williams and Leighton Meester did a cover of the bands song Dreams.
What kind of music you listen to when the weather gets you down?

Fashion for every style

I love people watching and seeing how they put together outfits. Today I compiled three looks for three different personal styles. I myself find it hard for me to say I am one style, I know what I like and I wear weather it's super girly or very rocker.
Three different look, three equally wearable outfits.
Grunge, Office chic, Boho babe.

Spring Clean Tips and Tricks

As I mentioned this week I have been in the process of doing my spring cleaning. I find this task very daunting with lots of little things we don't usually clean on a regular basis. With that being said I love trying out new clean products that some times work and other times not so much.
The other day I was poking around Pinterest and found some neat tricks for cleaning those tough situations.

I hope you find these tips helpful when you start your spring cleaning.
Is there any tips that you tried and worked?

Spring Trends to bring home

With the first day of spring being tomorrow it's time to bring into the home as well. Enough with the cold weather and grey days, I want sunshine and colour.
This week I have started the daunting spring clean and have been adding bits of spring colours and scents throughout the apartment. I thought I would you leave you guys some of the images that have been inspiring me this week!

I can not wait for the warmer weather but in the meantime its nice to have a refreshed home!
The easiest way to bring spring into the home is with pops of colour. Add some colourful photos to a gallery wall.
Throw a few bright throw pillows on the couch with a nice blanket.

What are some ways you brighten your home for the new season?

Dreamers

There is no dream to big or to small. In this day in age whats holding you back to achieve those dreams? We only have this one life that we know of, so why do we put so much pressure on ourselves  and second guess what we really want. Lets just say fuck it and go do it already!
At the end of your life wouldn't you want to look back and say you lived your life to the complete fullest you could? We always end up listening to the nay sayers who say we can't do that, but why not?
Believe in yourself that anything is possible, screw anyone who says other wise.
Work hard and don't give up till you have achieved your own definition of greatness. It will tough, you will have to face your fears, and you will feel like there is no point. You will second guess what your doing and you will feel alone and want to give up.
Just DON'T GIVE UP!
You are not alone, your dreams are not stupid and you can and WILL achieve them. All dreams are valid, no dream is too small. You are not to small to achieve them.
Everyone has to start from somewhere and in the end they will have a kick ass story about the journey.
What will your story be?
What are your biggest dream and how are you going to take to leap to make them reality?

Paris Fashion Week Part Two

Today we look at a few of the most anticipated show of all fashion month. We see what Nicolas Ghesquiére has in store for Louis Vuitton, Karl Lagerfeld's collection for the everyday women, and what I feel as the most artist show of the month Alexander McQueen.

Chanel

I feel like Karl was thinking of me when designing this runway. Whenever shopping and people ask the age old question of "where are you going to wear it?" my answer is always "the grocery store, where else?" Unless it is a evening look I like to have my wardrobe to be ready to go for coffee with friends and after be able to run errands.
This set was so detailed that there was even a hardware department with an Chanel chainsaw that did in fact have a Chanel chain!
Produce, hardware, candy, garbage bags and even door mats that say "Mademoiselle Privé."
I feel this set had more selection then my own local grocery store.
The collection was great as well with lots of different looks from ratty gym wear to ball gowns.
Overall this was a fantastic show!

Alexander McQueen

Lee McQueen often felt that he was obliged to offer something spectacular to re-energize the crowd from the long fashion weeks. He knew by the time London and Paris came around the fashion crowd started to feel bogged down by all the shows. Thats how his show's became so theatrical, and this was passed on through Sarah Burton.

The runway was landscaped with ten thousands heather plants that were illuminated by the moon light, which almost gave it a moody feel to the show. That was later translated in this collection with the dark black and heavy furs.
Wild beauty was Sarah's inspiration for this collection and it worked.

Louis Vuitton

This was probably one of the most anticipated show of all the fashion weeks combined. This show was the next chapter for Louis Vuitton after Marc Jacobs fourteen year run with the company came to an end last season.

Nicolas Gheaquiére is the new man in charge, however he is far from new in the fashion world and in fact missed after his departure from Balenciaga a year and a half ago.
Lots of big names came to see what he had to offer the brand including the lovely John Paul Gaultier front row and centre.
When you came in and sat down there was a lovely typed note on each seat that said "Today is a new day. A big day... Words cannot express exactly how I am feeling at this moment... Above all, immense joy."
This joy came through in the collection that almost had a 60's vibe about it with a 21st century twist.
The best part of this collection is that he seek advice from the women in the studio as to what they felt they wanted and needed from the brand.
"I listened to the girls in the studio a lot, the women around me, what they want, what they need."
As women we always love a man that listens, and this is just the start. I can see this being a great partnership!

Now that fashion month is done, what else would you like to see on here?

Paris Fashion Week Part One

We finally made it to the last week of fashion month! Lots of great things happen during all the fashion shows. Kendall Jenner made a big splash in walking a few big shows, Jared Leto held up one show for his arrival, and lots of great designs were showcased.
This week we are looking back at some great shows that happened in Paris.

Givenchy

Riccardo Tisci did great things for the fashion house. This collection felt very womanly and very french at the same time. "This time it was about celebrating elegance and bon ton." was Tisci's thoughts on this season collection. You could tell that the elegance was there and even in his amazing tailoring.

Saint Laurent

Lets start by talking about the runway at this show. When you first see it, it almost looked like troughs but when the show started they turned out to be hydraulic arms to create an allée for the models to walk through.
The collection itself was inspired by the mid sixties and the pop music that led the era.
It was made up of mostly sequins, metallic's, and furs which rang true at that time.

Valentino

This collection and Saint Laurent both had the same outlook in designing. Both were inspired by the 60's however Chiuri and Piccioli also looked at the 70's and Italian Pop art. When talking about the collection they brought up how women in this era were never thought of as artist "There were the rule breakers, Nobody believed that women could be artist."
Evening wear played a big part in the collection along with great colours and prints.

What did you think about these collections?
